Predator versus Planet of the Apes #3 review

The new Predator (an alien Yautja warrior) ally of Cornelius and Zira kills the Mutant controlled Gorilla soldiers of General Ursus.

Ursus, Doctor Zaius, Arch (the ANSA astronaut), Cornelius and Zira follow the Predator into the ruins of New York City. They are assailed by an illusion created by The Mutants (mutated human telepaths), unimpressed, the Predator walks right through the mirage.

St. Patrick's Cathedral. The Predator finds the Telepathic Mutants (Cronus, Crius, Helia and others) of the Forbidden Zone AND the missile he was looking for... the "Divine Bomb" of The Mutants. The Predator wants the vintage (two thousand years old) Alpha-Omega atomic Doomsday Bomb... to punish his peers who wronged him on Yautja Prime.

Crius utilizes his telepathic powers to force the Predator to hunt: Ursus, Dr. Zaius, Arch, Cornelius and Zira.

Will Arch and Ursus be able to obliterate the Predator with their fuel cells?

What I did like:

Magnificent covers by Stonehouse, Josemaria Casanovas and Phil Noto!

Hasslein's theory of time mentioned.

What I did not like:

Still no smart aleck giant brains in jars aka The Inheritors. Very disappointing.

Where is Mendez XXVI!?

Needed more Minister Sabian, Astronaut John Brent, Astronaut George Taylor, Lucius, Julius and Nova. A lot more.

The unpublished scripts of Doug Moench: Forbidden Zone Prime, The Captive of the Canals, To meet the Makers and Derek Zane + Faron in Journey to the Planet of the Apes are still not adapted!

I give it a 7/10. Greg Pak doesn't tap into Doug Moench's POTA expanded universe to make his story exceptional, he sticks to the unimaginative sequel way too much.

Transformers #28 (2023) review

Kirkman Kills The Transformers! Well, not all of them, yet! With Robert Kirkman’s Void Rivals having launched Skybound’s Energon Universe, he now takes the writing reins of the flagship Transformers comic series as well, with Dan Mora now on pencils and Mike Spicer still on colors. In this twenty-eighth issue, Megatron has a freakout, Arcee gets a promotion, Miles Mayhem tries his darndest to get a spin-off, and SOMEONE DIES. FOR REAL. PERMANENTLY. Whut-oh. Yeah, Kirkman finally gives in to his Walking Dead and Invincible pedigree and brings on the gore here, for both human and Transformer alike! After I felt like he was being remarkably restrained for his first three issues, he really goes for it here and it’s... I dunno... kind of on the nose, maybe? I guess he wanted to show that his run will be chock-full of consequences too, but I feel maybe his choice of victim was a little flawed and a real shame. The victim is a Transformers character that is known for getting the shaft usually...
